Patterns: Katmoget (Ab) and Gulmoget (At)...
BACK
Katmoget (Kat-moe-get) is another pattern that occurs at the "A" (pattern) locus. It is also referred to as "badgerface". These sheep have striped faces, and a dark belly stripe. This pattern can vary in intensity. The Dailley katmogets tend to have lighter markings than the UK imports.
Kats can be brown factored (fawn katmoget), or black factored (grey katmoget). In other sheep breeds, the "grey" would be more properly known as blue. The "grey" in grey kat is not Ag.

Fawn katmoget.
Gulmoget (Gull-moe-get) is also called reverse badgerface, or mouflon. This sheep expresses light colored facial markings (tear drops) and light bellystripe.

This ram pictured to the left is a gul-kat. He carries both gulmoget and katmoget at the A locus (At/Ab).
Notice the badgerface, and lack of color on the belly.
