Aberrant horns. (Rams).
Horn phenotype G
Aberrant horns can appear so similar to full horns, as to go unnoticed. These rams can throw smooth polled ram lambs!
These rams are still considered "polled", as they carry a poll gene.

This UK ram was collected, and his semen imported into North America for use in artificial insemination. Some of the F1's by this ram were polled!
Holly's line continues to throw polled rams.
Winter Sky Jamison. The aberrant horned ram has thrown polled and scurred ram lambs. Notice the narrow horn base compared to fully horned rams. The right horn has broken off.

This plate courtesy of S. Dolling's book "Breeding Merinos". It is the best example I can find of aberrant horns compared to true horns.
Observe the shorter length, slightly thinner horn base, and smoother horn surface on the above ram.
Dolling also states that aberrant horns (Pp) can also appear almost identical to real horns (pp).
